Thankfully we have seen the number of Covid-19 cases in Cape Town going down and all of our members who were infected during this recent wave are all doing so much better. God was merciful to us as a church and we give Him praise for this. The church of Jesus Christ has been through much worse situations in her history (wars, persecution, famine, disease). This has not rendered her ineffective or halted her efforts. She has simply had to adapt and make the most of every opportunity, of which there are many to serve right now in the current situation. The Lord is sifting us and building His church to be stronger and more effective in doing His will.
With the relaxation of restrictions, we are happy to announce that we will be resuming our 9:30am worship service this coming Sunday 7 February. Nobody is under any obligation to attend. We will still live stream on Facebook and later it will be on Youtube as we have done in the past.
Your wellbeing remains our concern. By now you are so familiar with safe practices, but here is a reminder:
For your own safety and that of others, we will have the following Covid Commandments in place to reduce the risk of infection among us.
- Screening & Registration 📝
Only the first 50 people are allowed to attend, who will each receive a free “squirt” to sanitise their hands. Your temperature will be taken, recorded and attendance details noted. - Seating 🪑
There are only 50 chairs in the chapel, evenly spaced to put ample distance between us. Once you have chosen your seat, please do not change to another for the duration of the service. Those who live in the same household can move their chairs closer to each other but all others must not. Avoid unnecessary movement within the building please. You can catch up with your friends outside after the service. - Face Masks 😷
Please ensure that you wear a proper cloth mask that covers you nose and mouth at all times for the duration of the service. - No physical contact 👋🏼
Keep your distance of at least 1.5m, and no physical contact. - Bathrooms 🚽
As far as possible, please avoid using the facilities. - Refreshments ☕
There will be no tea/coffee after the service. Bring your own bottle of water if you thirst. - Restricted areas ⛔
The stage, back hall, library and kitchen are restricted areas, no entry is allowed except for those on duty. - Communion & Offerings🍷
There will be no Lords’ Supper at this stage. Offerings can be made by EFT or directly into the offering box at the main entrance foyer. - Infection Control 🤒
In the event of you contracting the Covid-19, please notify the Church office ASAP. If you had attended a service, we will notify all other attendees without disclosing your health status. - Stay Safe 🦠
Those who have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 in the last 10 days, or displaying any symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, short breath) must please NOT attend our services but rather seek medical advice.
Please take care of yourself and those around you. The dreaded virus is still very much still with us. This is the time to think of your health and that of others and take personal responsibility to adhere to these safety procedures.
Love to you all, have blessed nights rest and keep praying 🙏🏼
